The procedure for acceptance of articles

Articles submitted to the editorial board that meet the requirements for manuscript volumes, and formatting rules undergo review and editing (scientific, technical, stylistic) process. The review and scientific editing are carried out by the specialists of the Scientific Research Institute of Theory and History of Architecture and Urban Planning, branch of the Central Institute for Research and Design of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation (NIITIAG), or other institutions that are qualified in the relevant fields of science and hold the scientific degree of Doctor or Ph.D., as well as members of the editorial board of the "Theory and History of Architecture" series (hereinafter - the THA) and the editorial board of each collection to which the article is sent, in accordance with the requirements for the publication of scientific literature. Reviewers must be recognized experts on the subject of peer-reviewed publications and have scientific publications on the same topic in the last five years.

Reviews are stored in the editorial office for five years. The editorial board reserves the right to reject the article or return it for revision. The ownership and scope of copyrights to the materials published in the journal are determined by the current legislation of the Russian Federation. Upon request of the author, the editorial board of the publication may send a copy of the review or a motivated refusal, without specifying the name and affiliation of the reviewer. A copy of the reviews may be sent to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation upon request.

Authors are not charged for publication, and no royalties are paid. No fee is charged from postgraduate students for the publication of manuscripts.

Articles of postgraduate students should be accompanied by a review (recommendation) of the scientific supervisor when they are submitted to the editorial office. If necessary, the author of the article must provide a document confirming that the article does not contain state secrets and can be published in the public press.

Editors are responsible for any content published in the collection. The authors are obliged to guarantee accurate citations of sources used in the process of working on the manuscript of the article. When using fragments directly or paraphrasing texts of other authors, the reference to the source is obligatory. Undocumented citations are considered plagiarism, which may be the reason for rejecting the article. When using illustrative material by other authors, a reference to the source or permission to publish materials is obligatory, if required by the copyright holder. Permission to publish must be obtained by the author personally.

It is allowed to specify persons directly involved in the preparation of scientific materials as co-authors. It is not allowed to include persons who did not participate in the research into the list of co-authors.

It is in the interest of the author to facilitate the work of the editors, for which it is recommended to respond to questions about the manuscript raised by the editors in a timely manner.

Important note: after the editorial board decides to include the article in the upcoming collection, the author should fill out a form of the license agreement and send it to the publishing house in two copies.
